Learning the Science of Reading

My students are not the only ones growing in my classroom. There is still a lot I can learn about the best methods to teach children to read and do math. That is why I am beginning a course on the Science of Reading. This course will improve my ability to hone in on phonics skills and ensure students are able to sound out words no matter what they find. It is the cutting edge in Reading instruction these days. What I gain from this course will help diagnosis student gaps and have the tools to address it. I cannot wait to use these new skills in my classroom!
